We’ve been waiting for this feature since FTM 2017! With Smart Filters in FTM 2019 we can now easily add more people who belong on our saved filters and they’ll be immediately added to them. However, once your list is created it’s hard to add more people who also fulfill those criteria without starting over from scratch. This is great for when you want to quickly create a list of all the people that meet certain criteria. In FTM 2017, you were able to save filtered lists. You will be able to see at a glance which people are blood relatives and which married into the family, or even how far away they are from the main branch of the family.

Now you can color code the descendants of ancestors too. You can now apply up to eight different colors instead of just one color. Select more than one color for the current person. In FTM 2019, there are two new things you can do with colors. But FTM lets you use colors to show what part of the family tree people are in.
